In times of tragedy we have a greater tendency to question God's goodness. Yet there are some important things we need to remember about the world we live in...
Number 1, it is a world at war set into chaos by the fall of man. And yes, unfortunately the consequences of that sometimes include the weather.
Number 2, Jesus himself refers to our enemy as the ruler of this world (John 14.30). While the devil certainly has no power to control the natural workings of the Earth, he does plays a hand in the chaos involved, especially when it comes to using events that have evolved from sin to cause doubt in the minds of believers and unbelievers alike (James 1.16).
Number 3, God's sovereign will. As painful and saddening as tragedy can be, we have to believe that somehow God is true to His word when he says all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to his purpose (Rom 8.28). Yes that even includes some things that are hard to fathom at times. God sees the overall picture while we just see what is right in front of us. I can't imagine what it must be like to experience the death of a child, especially a young one in all of their innocence, but all we can do is somehow learn to continue to trust in Jesus through such horrific events. What alternative do we have? (John 6.68).
Num 4, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The Bible also tells us that God understands and relates to our pain and never leave nor forsakes us. Remember at His core, He is good, and that can never change no matter what happens on earth.

So ultimately how do we make a dent in this ongoing war? Ezekiel 22:30 teaches us that God's people often achieve victory through prayer, yet we are often reluctant to do something as simple as that. So hit your knees and help people who are in a time of need as God leads you to. My life was saved numerous times through prayer and God has let me know that time and time again...
Love you guys! Prayers for all those deeply impacted by tragedy including the recent floods in Texas. Can't even imagine what that must be like to be directly affected by something as such. Come quickly Lord Jesus! 🙏☝️🙌✝️

Why does God allow natural disasters, i.e., storms, calamity, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, typhoons, volcanoes, cyclones, and mudslides? Does the Bible mention an earthquake, hurricane, tsunami, typhoon, mudslide, cyclone, tornado, or volcano?
