GPHSA MEMBERS:

Thank you for your advocacy in contacting your legislators - many of you let me know that you reached out to them, and it paid off. I'm happy to report that the final amended budget agreed upon by the House and Senate includes the full $2,000 supplement. The budget has been forwarded to the Governor for signature with no anticipated changes to be made.

The supplemental budget ends June 30, 2026, which means it is reasonable to expect the supplement on or before the closeout of FY26 at the end of July. I feel confident that DHS will send clarification in the near future on when employees can expect to receive the supplement.

Thank you again for your efforts.

As we reflect on more than 40 years of service to Georgia’s human services professionals, the Georgia Professional Human Services Association (GPHSA) is looking ahead to ensure we remain a relevant, responsive, and impactful organization.

To help guide this process, we are partnering with the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development. Like many organizations today, GPHSA recognizes the importance of evolving our practices and business model to better serve our members. T

his partnership will allow us to map out a strategic plan that is grounded in your feedback and focused on meeting the professional needs of human services leaders across the state.

Join us on August 12 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM for a virtual workshop:
"Nurturing Yourself: A Holistic Approach to Self-Care."

This engaging 90-minute session will guide participants through the essential role of self-care in maintaining physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual health. We’ll explore four core dimensions of self-care, uncover personal roadblocks, and build practical strategies to put your well-being first.
