A big thank you to Freedom of the Press Foundation for delivering a fantastic webinar on digital security for SPJ Georgia and Society of Professional Journalists members last night — and to everyone who joined us and asked great questions! 🔐

The session was hands-on, informative, engaging — and with a touch of humor. From the power of password managers to sneaky phishing schemes and the remarkable resilience of security keys, we learned a lot about how to better protect ourselves and our sources online.

Stay tuned for details about our upcoming in-person workshop on Physical Safety & Security for Journalists!

Last night, we had the pleasure of participating in ’s fifth-annual “Future of the First Amendment” lecture.

SPJ Georgia member Jennifer McKee shared a preview of our new media literacy initiative, , before historian Dr. Carol Sue Humphrey took the stage with a presentation on “Ideas about Freedom of the Press during the 1770s–1790s.”

The evening also included the Champion of the First Amendment Awards, recognizing outstanding local and student journalists. It was a perfect way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Code of Ethics and the enduring importance of a free press

Huge thanks to Dr. David W. Bulla (), David Kearns (), and all sponsors for hosting such a meaningful event. We were delighted to be part of it!
