At the Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent, we believe that lasting change begins when people come together with a shared commitment to serve.💙💛♥️

Sometimes that connection starts with something as simple as sharing a meal. Other times, it becomes part of a global effort that changes the lives of children and families for generations.

This October, we’re bringing both together.

Thursday, October 22 | Chili Cook-Off Social

Join us for an evening of fellowship, friendly competition, great food, and community connection!

Our chili cook-off is about more than determining who makes the best chili. It’s an opportunity to bring neighbors, community leaders, friends, and fellow Rotarians together. Because the relationships we build today can become the partnerships that help us serve our communities tomorrow.

Saturday, October 24 | World Polio Day

Around the world, Rotary members and their partners continue working toward a future where no child has to suffer from polio.

Imagine a parent being able to watch their child grow, play, attend school, and pursue their dreams without the threat of this preventable disease.

That is the future Rotary is working to protect.

Through decades of advocacy, fundraising, vaccination efforts, and global partnerships, Rotary has helped bring the world closer than ever to ending polio.

World Polio Day is an opportunity to recognize that progress, raise awareness, and reaffirm our commitment to finishing the job.

We invite our Southern Crescent neighbors, community organizations, business leaders, families, and anyone interested in service to connect with us!

The Rotary Zones 33/34 Public Image Team is creating a special Rotary Revolution video, for zone summit in Williamsburg, Va and we want YOUR photos of the incredible women who make Rotary stronger.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Anshu Chandra for joining the Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent as our special guest speaker on August 12, 2026.

Dr. Chandra shared an inspiring look at the work being done through the Haiti Eye Clinic and Global Eye Project to restore sight, prevent blindness, and expand access to critical eye care in rural Haiti.

Her presentation was a meaningful reflection of what Service Above Self looks like in action, using expertise, compassion, and service to improve lives and strengthen communities.

We appreciate Dr. Chandra for sharing her time, knowledge, and commitment to helping others with our club. Thank you for helping us see the power of service through a new lens. 💙💛❤️

Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent Help Local Kindergartener Begin the School Year with Confidence

Sometimes, making a difference begins with simply noticing an opportunity to help.

Recently, a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent came across a heartfelt social media post shared by respected community leader Crystal Perry, founder of Melanated Pearl Corp. In her post, Crystal shared the story of a hardworking father who had recently secured employment but had been living in his car with his daughter, who is preparing to begin kindergarten this fall.

Through the compassion and dedication of Crystal Perry and the Melanated Pearl team, the father was able to secure stable housing, providing his family with a safe place to begin a new chapter.

Inspired by Crystal’s post, the Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent wanted to help make the little girl’s first year of school even more special.

The club generously pooled together $300 and shopped for a variety of items from a wish list provided by Dad. The goal was simple: to help ensure his daughter could begin kindergarten feeling prepared, confident, and excited.

Together, the Rotarians purchased a wonderful collection of school essentials and thoughtful gifts, including:

School clothing
Shoes
School supplies
A backpack and lunch bag
A stainless steel water bottle
A soft fleece blanket
Several cuddly stuffed animals
Additional items to help make her first days of kindergarten memorable

Those gifts were delivered to Dad and his wonderful daughter. Seeing her excitement and knowing these items will help her start kindergarten with confidence made the day especially meaningful.

Acts of service often begin with one person sharing a need and others choosing to respond. What started as a social media post became an opportunity for a young girl to begin the school year with the essentials she needed and a reminder that her community believes in her.

The Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent is honored to have played a small part in helping this family as they begin a new chapter together.

This is what Service Above Self looks like, neighbors helping neighbors, one act of kindness at a time.
