A Different World reboot Season 2, we're ready for you!!! 👀

We kicked off homecoming season with an A Different World reboot watch party, and whew, it was unbelievably fun. Truly, A Different Kind of Watch Party. ✨

Food, fun, friends, and that joyful reunion energy that makes nostalgia feel brand new. The room felt like a homecoming.

The Hillman crew was in the building (Ron, Jaleesa, Freddie, Jim, Whitley, Dwayne, Walter, and maybe even a few of their offspring) showing up in our guests’ personalities and playful nods to the characters. We may need to check those student IDs! 😂

On the menu: Mr. Gaine’s Victory Burgers, Ray Nay’s Ribs, and Chipmunk’s Prune Cobbler. Norfolk State, Virginia State, Clark Atlanta, and Tuskegee alumni were all in the room.

Planned by Norfolk State alumni Andre McManus and Carla Newsome McManus, our very own Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, and the evening brought a full-circle reunion of former and current cast.

🍂 Apparently, fall is when bibliophiles retreat to cozy homes, sip hot tea, and peacefully hibernate under soft blankets. How charming. Someone clearly hasn’t attended a book club.

Urbane Renaissance Society is bringing in Fall 2026 HOT. 🔥📚 Think scandal, secrets, cultural reckonings, and enough drama to make “one more chapter” a threat to tomorrow’s productivity.

Expect cozy settings and spirited conversations—with people saying “I respect your opinion” while aggressively locating a page number.

The sweaters may be soft. The discussions won’t be.

Film, culture and creative exchange were at the center of our day at the BronzeLens Film Festival.

The experience affirmed the importance of preserving our stories, supporting diverse voices and creating spaces where culture continues to thrive.

The work continues.
