Our July–September 2026 quarterly numbers highlight the critical importance of ensuring that victim services remain available and accessible to crime victims and survivors. During this quarter, our shelter operated at 111.29% capacity, an increase of 9% from the previous quarter. Unmet requests for shelter increased by 97%, reaching 190, while crisis calls rose by 48%, totaling 598. Our legal advocacy program also experienced a 30% increase, serving 210 individuals.

These numbers reflect the growing need for support, safety, and advocacy throughout our community. We remain committed to expanding our services, strengthening partnerships, and advocating for the resources necessary to reach and support more individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and other crimes.

Hello everyone! We want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your continued support and for everything you do for our organization through your generous donations. We are truly grateful for each of you!

We are currently in the process of transitioning our donations from summer items to winter clothing and household needs. Because of this transition, we will not be accepting clothing or household item donations for the next two weeks.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we get everything organized and ready for the upcoming season. We will let you know when we resume accepting these donations.

We recently shared the exciting news that Dorien Lee will be transitioning into his new role as our CSEC | CSAM Advocacy Lead. We're proud of Dorien's continued growth and leadership, and his transition creates another opportunity to join our team!

This is an important role at WGACAC, combining direct advocacy for children and families with the day-to-day coordination that keeps our Center running. From welcoming families and coordinating appointments to supporting children and families, this person will be an essential part of our work across Carroll, Haralson, and Heard Counties.

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence impacts entire families—and children are often affected in ways that can last a lifetime.

In Georgia, nearly one-third of reported family violence incidents occurred with a child present.

At the West Georgia Domestic Violence Shelter, we are here to support families and children at all times. Our Child Advocate works directly with children in shelter, providing support, advocacy, and helping create individualized plans that promote safety, stability, and healing.

We are also committed to maintaining open communication and strong partnerships with Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and other nonprofit organizations whose mission is to support children who are victims of crime.

When we work together, we can create a stronger network of support for children and families.
