At Christian Prisoner Ministry, we’re not about walls; we’re about Bridges … and the Heroes that build them. Christian Prisoner Ministry (CPM) is a nonprofit ministry committed to extending the hope and power of Christ’s gospel to over 7.3 million people currently behind bars, on probation, or on parole in North America’s criminal justice system, as well as to their families. With the message of C
hrist’s love, forgiveness, and restoration, CPM works closely with correction officials, inmates and their families to assist in the inmates’ transition toward becoming productive citizens. Since 1982, CPM has partnered with local churches across North America to provide inspirational, instructional, and motivational tools to equip committed volunteers with skills, qualifications, and credentials necessary for effective ministry to individuals under correctional supervision and their families. Since inception, CPM has trained and certified more than 3,000 volunteers for ministry in the correctional environment. These skilled volunteers work closely with Departments of Correction to assist in meeting specified goals of rehabilitation and re-entry into the community. CPM also provides support resources to employees working in criminal justice through its fellowship of Professionals in Criminal Justice. Do you have a burden for individuals under correctional supervision in your community? Through CPM, you can contact a network of certified CPF chaplains and volunteers trained and dedicated to reaching your friends, family, and those in your community behind bars or in transitional living facilities. If you desire to serve in this ministry, CPF can equip and empower you to be involved. Each week, an immeasurable amount of dedication, passion, and faithfulness fuels over 1,000 CPM volunteers, chaplains, and staff in their drive to reach inmates and their families with the life-changing message of Hope. Not many accolades, and rarely a thumbs-up, accompanies such a passion. But this is not why they go; they go knowing that their efforts fulfill the Great Commission, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel…” The gospel, or the “Good News,” is that there is hope through Jesus Christ: a fresh start, a new life, a personal experience with a living Savior.
