“King said in 1963 when he was in the Birmingham jail, that the greatest enemy of the Civil Rights Movement are the moderates who are more interested in peace and order than they are in justice and change.” - Bishop Barber.

On Wednesday, July 30th, Bishop Barber discussed King’s words as well as the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation/denial of healthcare, the war economy/militarization of our communities, and the false moral narrative of religious nationalism.
