I had someone asking about donating to my cat rescue and I can’t find the comment. I’ll share the link to my Amazon wishlist and go fund me. We also are always accepting donations to our main spay/neuter clinic at The Great Life clinic in Kent, under my “Just Cats” Rescue account. The phone number to the clinic is 330-525-9988. The Great Life is the clinic we use nearly every week to spay and neuter new intake cat’s and kittens so that they can be vetted and are able to go up for adoption. I came home from work last night and Dash was still on the couch where he was when I left. He went to the litter box and is having a hard time kinda limping. I slept with him on the couch he felt hot and then this morning he couldn’t get off the couch without falling and we’re at the vet now. Looks like limping callci. I have gone through most of my savings between sick visits and spay/neuter appointments. I appreciate everyone who has helped me with donations but the bills continue to pile up and I’m not sure if I can continue. Very important information here

It is not that relocation of feral cats cannot be done, but it is not an easy or always successful task. Let's take a closer look at the obstacles:

TERRITORIAL BEHAVIOR:
Feral cats form strong bonds with their territory and may attempt to travel long distances to return to their original home, putting them at risk of injury or death during the journey. There is a chance they will run away from their new location even if suitable acclimation was carried out. If there was no acclimation process, you can almost guarantee it.

STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE:
You will have to keep the kitty confined long enough so he can learn that this is his new home and you are the new feeder. This process is highly stressful for cats, especially since they are not socialized to humans and may not understand what is happening. It is also stressful for the human trying to care for the cat.

VACUUM EFFECT:
If cats are removed from an area, it is said that new cats will quickly move in to fill the space, meaning relocation does not actually reduce the population.

POTENTIAL FOR HARM IN NEW ENVIRONMENT:
A relocated cat may not be familiar with the new area's predators, food sources, or shelter options, increasing their risk of injury or starvation.

ETHICAL CONCERNS:
Many animal welfare organizations consider relocating feral cats as inhumane due to the potential for significant stress and danger to the animals.

🔸 What can you do instead? 🔸

TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN (TNR):
This method involves trapping feral cats, sterilizing them, vaccinating them, ear-tipping for identification, and then returning them to their original location.

PROVIDE FOOD AND SHELTER:
If you are concerned about a feral cat population, consider providing food and shelter in a designated area to help manage their numbers and reduce conflicts.

When I learned about a 3 legged cat 🐈‍⬛ being given away for free on Craigslist, I recognized the urgency of the situation. This 12-year-old cat has experienced neglect from multiple owners, resulting in unresolved physical health issues. We must prioritize his veterinary care, update his vaccinations, and provide any necessary dental treatment. We have arranged an appointment at Humble Creatures veterinary clinic for this Wednesday morning, but we need financial support to cover the expenses. If anyone is willing to donate, please contact Humble Creatures at 330-492-6960 to contribute to our account. We are seeking suggestions for a name for this timid but sweet cat. We would also like to express our appreciation to Cheryl Schlueter for her dedication to securing the rescue of this cat, managing the complexities with the owner, and ensuring his placement in a rescue organization where he will receive the necessary care. Just Cats Rescue took in 2 kittens and a cat this week. Both kittens were dumped together and ended up spending 2 nights on someone’s doorstep before we were made aware and rescued them. Last week 2 were surrendered to our rescue both with upper respiratory infections and needed to be treated immediately. The cat was living outside after owner’s moved away and left her unaltered to roam the neighborhood and suffer from malnutrition and make babies. All 3 are fully vetted and ready to go up for adoption. With the recent clinic visits and the new intakes we took in, we are completely full and out of resources to take any more cat’s. At the bottom we have posted the last page of our billing invoice from yesterday’s ta trip and last week’s sick visit. If anyone would like to donate to a good cause towards the veterinary care of these cat’s, I will be sharing our go fund me. Remember that we are a local nonprofit organization cat rescue who supports community street cats and strays who have been abandoned, abused or neglected. We rely solely on the support community and our own money to care for and vet these cat’s. Thank you everyone who donates food, funding, adopts cat’s and kittens from our rescue. We are also in desperate need of fosters and volunteers to help keep up the cat room. Thank you 🙏

Mindy, Piper and Hannah all were sneezing 🤧 and I wanted to catch it before it turned into an upper respiratory infection. These are some of the expenses that come up when caring for rescue kitties. This is what I use my donations for. Every dollar makes it possible for us to care for these babies until they get adopted. I just want to share with you some of what it takes to do rescue. This absolutely amazing boy is Walter. Walter is approximately 2 years old, fixed vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/fiv and microchipped. Walter has the sweetest demeanor and he gets along with other cat’s. If you are looking to adopt, pls consider adopting Walter and making him part of your family. He truly deserves a family to love and care for him forever ❤️.

This baby enjoyed her bath so much. The bath water was brown from her urine soaked fur. Story is that her owner left her in the care of her mother and she was neglected so badly and put outside on the porch and next to suffer all day yesterday until a family member contacted me.
