This was WOD first nine-weeks class and our children; ie young mentees were geared up, and showed up with homework assignments completed for every class and was excited to share with the class their work.

Celebrating the Legacy Cursive Writers Graduation!

We are excited to announce that the WOD Legacy Cursive Writers will graduate on July 11th! Women of Distinction, Inc. hosted a transformative nine-week cursive writing course, intentionally designed for a small group of six students aged 8 to 15. This personalized approach allowed each child to learn at their own pace.

The Importance of Cursive Writing

Despite cursive writing no longer being a requirement in many schools, it remains a vital skill. In a digital age, children must be able to write, sign, and read cursive. Surveys conducted by WOD highlighted a significant gap in these skills among youth, prompting our commitment to change this one child at a time.

Special thanks to CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson for your support, and to Dr. Karri Bryant for allowing us to hold classes at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb County. 📣📣 Attention! Please Share.

If you know children, both girls and boys who should participate in cursive writing curriculum, please ensure they are registered online immediately. The first in-person class last week involved a thorough analysis, and our next class which is virtual, is scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 9th

The urgency is real: many children are unable to write or read in cursive, as this skill is ‘no longer’ mandatory in most schools. However, mastering cursive is essential for effective communication. Once our current class is filled, WOD will open enrollment for a second course.

All In-person classes are being held in DeKalb County. Don’t miss this opportunity to equip children with a vital skill!
