As August comes to a close, we pause to honor one of the most sacred awards this nation has ever bestowed upon its warriors. 💜

The Purple Heart.

Established by General George Washington on August 7, 1782, the Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration still awarded to American service members today. This month marks the anniversary of its creation. It is awarded to those wounded or killed in action against an enemy of the United States. It recognizes no rank, branch, or background.

It recognizes only one thing: sacrifice.

Behind every Purple Heart is a human being who stood in harm's way and refused to yield. Who paid the cost of freedom so others would not have to. Who gave pieces of themselves, sometimes all of themselves, on soil far from home, for people they would never meet, in the name of something greater than any one life.

That is not just courage. That is the highest expression of service this world has ever seen. 🙏🏾

To every Purple Heart recipient, we see you. We honor you. The wounds you carry, visible and invisible, are a permanent testament to your commitment to this nation. You are not forgotten. You will never be forgotten. 💜

To every veteran carrying wounds that no medal can fully capture, your sacrifice is seen. Your pain is acknowledged. Your service is honored just the same. 🙏🏾

August may be ending — but the reverence this award commands never does. 💜

Sir, we hope you take some time today to relax, enjoy yourself, and celebrate another year of life and leadership. We appreciate everything you do for Region II, the time you put in behind the scenes, and your commitment to keeping this region moving forward.

Now, with that being said… today is your birthday, so we’ll try not to bother you with any Region II business. 😂 No meetings, no phone calls, no “Hey RP, quick question…”—at least until tomorrow! 🤣

Having representation connected to this commission is a major achievement and shows the impact Alpha Mu Chapter continues to make throughout the Montgomery community, especially when it comes to supporting our military members, veterans, and their families.

Brother of the Month – August

On behalf of the Region II President and the Executive Council (EC), we proudly recognize Brother Keith “BLADE” Hunter of Xi Chapter for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the continued growth of our fraternity.

Brother Hunter demonstrated exceptional leadership by bringing the chapter together to conduct a comprehensive review of both the Xi Chapter Constitution & Bylaws and the Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc. Constitution & Bylaws. Through his knowledge and professionalism, he provided a master class that broke down each section, explained the purpose and regulations, and guided the chapter through the revisions and updates that were adopted.

Brother Hunter never seeks recognition—he simply leads by example. His willingness to share his knowledge, strengthen the chapter, and serve as a valued member of the Executive Decision Committee has made a lasting impact on Xi Chapter and Region II.

Thank you for your continued service and for living our motto through your actions.

Greetings, Region II Family! 🎒📚

It's that time again: Back to School!

For some, today is the first day. For others, it's coming up fast. Either way, the season is here.

Some of you have been prepared for back-to-school shopping, with backpacks loaded and outfits laid out the night before. And then there are those of us who know the truth: kids grow overnight, and sizes are out the door before the receipt even hits the trash can. 😂 That shopping never really stops, does it?

To the teachers, SALUTE. What you do matters more than words can say.

To the parents, y'all have been eaten out of house and home this summer, and you know it. 😂 You earned this one.

To every student starting today or in the days ahead, may this school year be filled with grace, love, and knowledge. Show up. Work hard. Make us proud.

No matter your faith, religion, or personal beliefs, we ask that you lift them up in whatever way you can. A kind word, a silent prayer, a moment of reflection, or positive thoughts can provide strength during life’s toughest moments.
