We are a non-profit community meat resource for veterans, seniors, and families in need. How MEAT AND FOOD FOR CHRIST, INC·got started....
·
Me and my wife are two disabled veterans. We are lifetime volunteers at our local VA hospital. Our friends and family begin to loose their jobs this year. They started to depend on the local food pantries to feed their families. They quickly and sadly discove
red that they could not find a pantry that distributed meat. We started to volunteer at our church local pantry and thought we might be able to find the right pantry to help them. So, we began to search other larger food banks and other places to find free "fresh frozen meat" for families in need. Unable to find free meat pantries, it became our mission and passion to feed as many veterans, families. God has blessed us to have established two partnerships which inspired us to establish Meat and Food for Christ LLC. These two partnerships provide fresh frozen meat to our organization on a weekly basis. We have used our own personal van since September to transport meat. In order to keep up with the ever growing needs of the families that we serve, we are required to have a refrigerated cargo van to transport meat from the meat processing plants to our pantry freezers. We know how important fresh meat is to families and their nutritional needs, so we took our own personal money to purchase the refrigerated cargo van. We have also been blessed by our Gofundme one time and monthly supporters (search name meat and food for christ) and our local church to work in partnership with the current pantry ministry to operate on the church campus every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. We have applied for our 501c3 and as soon as we receive it, we will move to the GoFundMe charity section. Please join our community of friends because your support (volunteer service and funding) mean that we can continue to feed America's families that are facing uncertain times. So many of our children and elderly go to bed hungry. Let’s help erradicate hunger in America. We are so thankful for you and all you do to help in the fight to end hunger. Ron and Miriam.
