The International Society of Olympic Historians (ISOH), founded in 1991, has been a recognized organization of the International Olympic Committee since 1996. ISOH has 455 members in 55 nations. The membership of ISOH includes academics, journalists and people who are simply passionate about the Olympic Games and the values they represent. ic Movement, from the ancient games and the founders’ philosophy to the stories of the athletes and the competitions, and the Paralympics. The majority of recent books on the Olympic Games were written by ISOH members, and more than 20 ISOH members earned the prestigious Olympic Order for contributions to the Olympic Movement. ISOH publishes the Journal of Olympic History three times a year. The organization also presents annual awards to Olympic historians and to the authors of books and articles.
