Listening. Learning. Advocating. ❤️
I was grateful for the opportunity to meet with Rick Jackson, Republican nominee for Governor of Georgia, and to hear more about his perspectives and plans concerning foster children and Georgia’s foster care system.
As someone who has spent many years caring for and advocating for children and families, I believe it is important to listen, ask questions, and have meaningful conversations with those who are willing to share their vision for the children and families we serve.
Rick’s own experience as someone who was once in foster care gives him a personal connection to the system and to the experiences of children who have traveled that path. I appreciated the opportunity to hear more about his perspective and the issues that are important to him.
My participation in this conversation was an opportunity to listen, learn, and engage in dialogue. Sharing these photographs is simply a reflection of that opportunity and should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any candidate, campaign, or political party.
I will continue to listen, learn, ask questions, and advocate for the children and families we serve. I believe these conversations are important, and I remain committed to being at the table whenever there is an opportunity to discuss ways we can better support, protect, and advocate for children and families. ❤️
