Jesus said: “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” — Luke 10:2. The harvest is GREAT. But the laborers are FEW.
And the children in our communities are growing up in a world that desperately needs JESUS. Every day, children walk into our schools carrying fear, confusion, brokenness, and questions about life. As I walked by these flowers the other day, I noticed something that made me stop. They had grown up through a crack in the concrete! It reminded me that life isn't always lived in perfect conditions.

Children today face broken homes, loneliness, anxiety, peer pressure, and a world that often seems to be pulling them away from truth. Yet, just like these flowers, they can still bloom—even in the hardest places. The difference is the seed that is planted.

When a child hears the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discovers they are deeply loved by God, and has faithful adults investing in their lives, hope begins to grow. Faith takes root. Lives are changed. That's why after-school Bible clubs matter. That's why churches must continue to go where the children are. We don't wait for perfect circumstances—we bring the Gospel into the middle of life's cracks.

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."—Isaiah 40:8

MOVE THE FENCE

In his book *Messy Spirituality*, Mike Yaconelli tells the story of a group of American soldiers during World War II who lost one of their friends in battle. As they prepared to move out the next day, they hoped to bury their fallen comrade in a small churchyard cemetery nearby. When they approached the priest and asked permission, he regretfully explained that the cemetery was reserved only for members of the church. However, he allowed them to bury their friend just outside the fence.

The soldiers did so and returned the next morning to visit the grave one last time before leaving. To their surprise, they couldn't find it.
Confused, they went to the priest and asked what had happened.
The priest replied, "It's still there." Seeing their puzzled faces, he continued, "Last night, I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about what I had told you—that your friend couldn't be buried inside the fence. I knew it wasn't right. So I got up in the middle of the night... and I moved the fence."

What a powerful picture of the Gospel!

Many churches faithfully minister to the children who come through their doors, yet thousands of children in our local elementary schools never enter a church building. They cannot drive themselves to church, and nearly 80% do not attend church.
