Congratulations to Button Gwinnett’s own Jenny Chapin on her 2025 Silver Antelope Award! Thank you for all you do for Scouting.

Congratulations to Jenny Chapin on receiving the Silver Antelope Award! The Silver Antelope is the highest honor given to those in each Service Territory who display exceptional character in their service to youth.

Jenny and her husband Bob are the proud parents of four Eagle Scouts from Troop 525 in Button Gwinnett, and her dedication to Scouting runs deep. She began her Scouting journey volunteering in various roles at both the unit and district levels. A longtime leader on the Atlanta Area Council Board of Directors, Jenny has held key positions including Vice President of District Operations, Council Commissioner, and currently serves as the council's Youth Protection Champion. In recognition of her exceptional service to the council, she was awarded the Silver Beaver in 2012. Over the past two years, Jenny has been the Council Service Territory 14 Commissioner, providing leadership and guidance to the Commissioners of nineteen Councils across the Southeast serving tens of thousands of youth.

Jenny is a dedicated Scouting leader who has directly impacted the lives of thousands of Scouts and is incredibly deserving of this honor. Congratulations, Jenny!

Congratulations, Joey D'Anna, Button Gwinnett District’s Silver Beaver Award winner for 2024!

We're excited to announce Joey D'Anna as a member of the Atlanta Area Council's 2024 class of Silver Beaver Award recipients!

Joey has been deeply involved in Scouting for many years, guiding both of his sons to the rank of Eagle Scout and supporting their participation in the Order of the Arrow. He served as Cubmaster of Pack 420 for seven years before becoming the founding Scoutmaster of Scouts BSA Girls Troop 420 in Duluth, GA, in 2019. Under his leadership, the troop has grown from five to over 20 members.

Beyond his troop leadership, Joey has served on staff at the 2017 National Jamboree and was honored with the Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow in 2018. He received the District Award of Merit for the Button Gwinnett District and has been the program adviser for the Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge since 2020. He has also attended multiple National Order of the Arrow Conferences, including in 2022 and 2024.
