The very makeup of our communities were formally altered because you dared to dream. Your legend will be taught in schools and studied in universities for years to come.

When hometown legends see their hometown in need they don't just send condolences. They do not just wish they could do something to help. They go out there and do what needs to be done. This legend did not have to go back personally, he could have just donated and left it at that. Fortunately for Mayfield, Kentucky they had Luis Pardo.

Former NFL players, an MLB umpire and one of the best basketball players this town has ever seen came to help with money and supplies, including toys for Christmas.

A true hometown legend if we have ever seen one. When the moment of choice came, he chose others instead of himself. That level of selflessness, his ultimate sacrifice, and his sense of duty to his fellow citizens is a testament to the greatness he possessed. Your sacrifice was not in vain, your legacy will live on in every life you saved. Our hearts go out to you and your family.

One of the students killed in the Oxford High School shooting was Tate Myre, a star wrestler and football player who always sacrificed for the team.

America lost a major hometown legend this morning. From solider to Us Secretary of State, General Powell had dedicated most of his life to serving the people of this nation. We will never forget that calm and steady hand you provided to our service men and women in truly trying times. Rest on Peace General.

Colin Powell, the first Black US secretary of state whose leadership in several Republican administrations helped shape American foreign policy in the last years of the 20th century and the early years of the 21st, has died from complications from Covid-19, his family said on Facebook. He was 84.
