A message from the founder and team members: it is with great sorrow that we have decided to temporarily suspend operations at umepam. Due to the unstable government in Haiti we understand that any action we try and pursue can be met with uncertainty. While we wish we didn’t have to announce this we are optimistic that one day in the future we can continue our mission to provide better education to the children in Haiti. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our supporters who have been with us every step of the way. And while you may not see us don’t think we aren’t working diligently behind the scenes.

Today marks one year since UMEPAM was founded!

UMEPAM was created to help the children of Haiti have access to a better learning environment to enhance their education. Thanks to our donors, we were able to provide free lunch for students, equipment for recreational activities, fund the first technology classroom in Les Cayemites, and much more in our first year!

We also had an impact back home by creating the Future Educator Scholarship, which provides financial assistance for college students pursuing their teaching license.

UMEPAM’s team is thrilled at what we have accomplished and we can’t wait to continue our work!

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to an end we wanted to give a special thank you to teachers all over who are passionate about educating young minds amidst various difficulties that they encounter! We appreciate you 🧑‍🏫

UMEPAM recently announced the Future Educator Scholarship which is intended to financially assist students who are obtaining their teaching license. We had many students complete the application and interviewed several qualifying students.

We would like to highlight one of the scholarship winners Chloe Reed. Chloe is from Tazewell, Virginia, and majoring in Music Education in hopes of going back to Tazewell County to teach in a musical classroom. “No matter where I am placed- elementary, middle, or high- I want my students to advance in music and in education just as I have witnessed in Washington County Schools.”
