Thanks to the leadership of Bart & NIck, and fantastic donor support, construction is on the home stretch! Once complete, we will furnish the house, finalize our program plan (that plan is already well underway), apply for GARR certification, hire our House Manager, obtain referrals from Rockdale Accountability Court, stock the pantry, and make final plans to open in September.

Several of us on the Disciple House Board went on a road trip a few weeks ago to Levi House in Cleveland, GA. We have much to learn about operating a sober-living home. These day trips -- this was our second one -- to transitional homes similar to the Level 2 home we plan to open this Fall, are very necessary as we develop our House Manual that describes every aspect of daily life in our home. We are indebted to Jessica Montgomery, Levi Ministries, for generously sharing her time and experience with us. She and her husband, Pastor Cody Montgomery, operate 5 sober living homes in Cleveland, Helen, and Clarkesville, GA. We have also visited Palm House Recovery Center in Athens, GA, where Scully, their In-House Director, was also generous with his valuable time and experience.

Come to Conyers First Methodist Church this Sunday, February 1, 11:00 as Mark Elliott of the Robert L Moore Disciple House Board, shares the Robert Moore story and the exciting progress of recent months at Disciple House. We thank God for Robert Moore, who ministered to inmates in Rockdale, and for the vision God gave him, to open a Sober Living Residence for men coming out of Rockdale Jail. Robert's vision will soon reach fruition. We plan to open Disciple House this Fall. A lot of work is going on at 1555 Milstead Rd, Conyers, these days. Building on a legacy of commitment to Robert Moore's vision, the RLMDH Board has renewed its commitment to renovate Robert L Moore Disciple House -- in the next 6 months. Bart & Nick are hard at work, daily. Visible progress is occurring weekly. With the help of Atlanta Basement Solutions, we have resolved the basement waterproofing issues. With the help of Conyers Security Alert, we have secured the house. Others are developing the program and funding plans so that we will be prepared to provide transition housing, Fall 2026. If you are on Milstead Rd (behind the hospital, near Sigman Rd), check us out. The banner, held up at our recent RLMDH Board Meeting, will be on display in our front yard, to remind that Disciple House will be serving Rockdale very soon. With God's help, and your support, Disciple House will transform the lives of men who have recently exited Rockdale Jail so they may make a positive contribution to their community, their families, their churches, their workplaces, and much, much more.

Your tax-deductible contributions to RL Moore Disciple House are appreciated. 100% of your contribution goes directly to the costs of restoring and renovating the Vera T. Baugh Home on Milstead Rd for service to the Rockdale community. The Vera T. Baugh Home continues to need your support in this basic restoration and renovation project, so it may be opened to serve. The needed restoration/renovation is 100% funded by your charitable contributions. 100% of contributions go directly to the costs of restoring this house. Contributions do not pay salaries. Our volunteer Board of Directors is not compensated.

Here's some background prep for RLM Disciple House's May 20 BBQ fundraiser. Food was plated at Conyers First UMC. The outstanding pulled Pork was provided by Dry Your Eyes, a private BBQ supplier in Conyers/Covington (Look up Dry Your Eyes on FB), with a long history of relationship with Conyers First UMC.

RLM Disciple House celebrates God's blessings as we held our first BBQ fundraiser, today. Thanks to several generous donations, BBQ plates were delivered to Rockdale County Sheriff's Officeand Conyers Police Department. Rockdale County Firefighters picked up donated plates for firefighters, EMS and 911 dispatch. Pictured are members of RCSO enjoying BBQ in front of their admin facility.
