Beatitudes Youth Mentoring Mission

Our mission is to inspire young people to be beacons of light by spreading charity and kindness throughout their community. We seek to create programs that promote social awareness and social responsibilities, while providing opportunities for young people to shine light and love into their communities, through service learning projects and other community activities. PEERS is a 20-week program t

hat allows high school students opportunities to come together and discuss topics that affect them, their families, and their communities. Each week, there will be a focus session. During each session, the youth will hold a discussion as well as participate in an activity that focuses on one of our core topics. Some topics include; thinking more positively, having a spirit of gratitude, social awareness, community involvement, networking, self-esteem, effective communication, reflection & analysis, and much more. Youth can share and support one another's ideas and discuss ways that they can contribute to work towards a more positive result for each area of discussion. At the end of this phase, participants will receive completion certificates and may choose to continue on to the next phase of the program. High school seniors participating in our program will have an opportunity to earn a scholarship award. According to numerous studies, youths who engage in peer lead activities are more likely to speak up and solve a problem that is familiar and important to them. Offering children and youths opportunities to apply their talents and skills to take leadership and pride in their accomplishments can help transform their lives and the community for the better.
