Yup! You guessed it? We’re addicted to:

✅Movement! And not just any movement, we’re addicted to walking in nature, better known as hiking! And it’s not as strenuous as you think!

✅Nature! It’s been so amazing to reconnect with a part of us that’s been dormant for so long. Not because we didn’t want to, but because we were afraid to. Outdoor activities such as hiking was considered a “white sport.” History tells us otherwise, and now we’re reconnecting with what was inside of us all along!

✅Mindfulness! We’re learning how to slow down, to rest, and to pause in the present moment. Deep breathing, meditations, journal/mindful prompting, grounding, hugging trees…all the things that make us BE more and not DO more!

✅Community! Black women are being SEEN and HEARD! We’re supporting each other, we’re laughing, crying, and understanding each other. We’re connecting, and eliminating the “strong” black woman narrative by being together and not in isolation; helping one another by sharing our journey, making it less lonely, more sisterhood!🫂

Soul Sistas Hike Too is transforming lives through movement, nature, mindfulness and sisterhood, one mindful hike at a time! 🥾🌳💜Join us as we continue to expand into partnerships with companies, organizations, and also sponsorships with brands that fit our mission and our Soul Sistas!

Y’all! Your SSHT leaders were B-U-S-Y last month! 😮‍💨 We swear May was a complete blur! And we still have not recovered!😫

From reliving our childhood at concerts to scouting, planning, THEN executing mindful hikes all on weekends because we still have full-time jobs, May was exhausting, exhilarating, exciting and full of great new, memorable experiences!

But trust, we’re learning about capacity, and what that truly means when building a business, working a full time job and taking care of a family.
We can do it all, maybe just not all at one time!😐🙃

Rest is not a reward, it is a necessity.
Chronic stress was never meant to be y(our) normal. You don’t have to earn your pause.

Today is the first day of a new month.
Choose one thing today, and at least once a week, that helps your nervous system feel safe: a walk on the grass, a KEE-KEE with your homegirls, a deep breath, a relaxing bath, lunch away from your desk, a real 15 minute break, a moment of stillness, meditation, or a mindful hike with a group of like-minded women😏

Y(our) worth is not measured by how much you carry.
Y(our) healing begins when you/we put something down.😌

If you’re the woman who:

🙋🏾‍♀️holds everything together
🙋🏾‍♀️leads at work
🙋🏾‍♀️shows up for everyone
🙋🏾‍♀️never falls apart publicly

Then 9/10, you identify yourself as “strong.”

Here’s why being the “strong” black woman is hurting your next moves in your career or life:

1. It’s masking your burnout.
You’re not just strong…
you’re overextended, overstimulated, and overwhelmed.😕

2. It’s isolating you.
When you’re “the strong one,” people stop checking on you, you stop asking for help, so you carry everything alone. And now you’re leading, giving, and pouring, with no place to land. That’s not strength. That’s silent depletion.😕

3. It’s keeping your body in survival mode. Your nervous system was never meant to live in survival mode.
Constant strength = constant pressure.😫
So your body responds with:

* tension
* fatigue
* emotional exhaustion
* disconnection

‼️FACTS: You can’t rapidly access clarity, peace, nor creativity in survival mode.

What you REALLY need is
✅space to breathe
✅space to feel
✅space to not perform

That’s CALM.

And you deserve that.
You can have that!

It’s a matter of practicing rest,until it becomes part of your habit routines.

One way to rest, reset! And what better way to reset by having a mindful hiking experience in nature, mindfulness and sisterhood🫂

We’re changing generational patterns, one mindful hike at a time!🥾

We will complain about how long it takes to get around Atlanta,🫩but when it’s time to drive for hours and miles to get to a beautiful waterfall, or an amazing mountain view, KNOWING you’ll be laughing and connecting with like-minded people, you’ll get ZERO complaints from us! 🥰
We’ll get up super early for this type of “going on!”🤭
