Hear ye, hear ye! Atlanta Artist Relief Fund is convening a virtual town hall meeting this Wednesday (1/12) at 4pm EST. Come learn about the work we’re doing, what events and trainings are coming up and the ways in which we can be of service to our precious community (and how you amazing folks can help us!)

We'll be going live on our page, but don't worry, the video will remain available to anyone interested!

We are so excited to kick off a new year with you, Atlanta. See you soon.

As a creative worker, you may end the year with a 1099 or two. What does it mean? And how can you use it to your advantage? In our first session of Adulting for Artists, our wonderful partner and tax expert, Jayda, will teach you how to navigate your taxes, what resources are available to you, and answer your questions as you prepare for tax season.

We’ll be covering:
The difference between W2 and 1099 income
Which expenses are deductible business expenses?
Estimated tax payments
What to prepare for tax season?
How to respond to IRS letters?

Each session of Adulting for Artists ends with a Q&A and information on how your friends at A.A.R.F. can help. So sign up, spread the word, and we’ll see you on Zoom on January 22nd from 10:30am-11:30am.

Atlanta Artist Relief Fund is thrilled to present our new professional development series, “Adulting for Artists.” This free online series will take you through tax preparation tips and tricks (i.e. what do you do when your job hits you with a 1099?), how to budget on an artist’s wages, how to find the best health care plan without breaking the bank, and more.

These presentations will be led by our community partners and to empower you with the vocabulary, know-how, and confidence to manage some of the worst stressors that artists may face. These are entry-level, accessible conversations with some of our favorite experts so bring your questions and check out “Adulting for Artists,” starting in January 2022!

As we say goodbye to 2021, we reflect on the miracle that is the Atlanta arts community.

To every donor, volunteer, board member, staff member, community member, social media follower: thank you! Your generosity supported the practical needs of 569 Atlanta artists. Together, we are changing what it is to be an artist in this city.

To each artist who reached out for support: thank you! You matter, your work in our city is important, and you are a world changer. Thank you for trusting us and for reaching out for help. We are endlessly blessed to be in community with you.

Thank you to every single member of this incredible community. The AARF staff wishes you a happy, healthy, and creative 2022.
