A huge thank you to Jason Stribling for his outstanding presentation on Situational Awareness at our CFA Alumni meeting!

Jason shared valuable information that applies to everyday life, helping us become more aware of our surroundings and better prepared to respond when something "JDLR" (Just Doesn't Look Right). We learned practical tips such as understanding emergency terminology like a Code 4 (everything is okay), how first responders identify locations within a structure, and why providing clear, accurate information during an emergency is so important. For example, a location identified as A12 would indicate the front (A side) of a building, Level 1, Opening #2.

The presentation also covered the Run, Hide, Fight response model and reinforced the importance of having a plan and staying aware of potential threats wherever we are.

Thank you, Jason, for sharing your knowledge, experience, and commitment to keeping our community safe.

The Gwinnett Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of Class #39!

Over the past several weeks, you have dedicated your time and energy to learning about the men and women, programs, training, and services that make Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services such an outstanding organization. Your commitment, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the cohort are truly commendable.

As graduates, you are now part of a growing family of informed and engaged community members. We hope your experience has inspired a lasting interest in fire service, emergency preparedness, and community risk reduction.

🌧️💙 Rain or shine, our CFA volunteers show up to serve.

Today’s food distribution was met with torrential downpours, soaked clothes, and challenging conditions — but our incredible volunteers never slowed down. They continued loading cars, moving supplies, and helping families with smiles and determination every step of the way.

We are beyond grateful for the dedication, heart, and commitment of our Gwinnett Citizens Fire Academy Alumni volunteers and all community partners who braved the weather to make sure no one went without food today.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and our communities.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who gave everything to protect the freedoms we hold dear.

The Gwinnett Citizens Fire Academy Alumni proudly honors the heroes who never made it home, including the firefighters, first responders, military service members, and public servants who answered the call with courage and selflessness.

Yesterday’s Food Distribution was definitely one for the books. ❤️☀️

With many people balancing elections, graduations, and other community activities this week, the overall volunteer numbers were lighter than usual — making for a very busy and very hot day for everyone serving.

A huge thank you to our dedicated CFA volunteers who worked tirelessly to help care for our neighbors with kindness, patience, and compassion despite the exhausting heat.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the day was when a young man and his mother arrived to receive food assistance… and then chose to stay to help volunteer alongside everyone else. Their generosity and caring spirit were such a beautiful reminder of what community is all about.

Even on the hottest and busiest days, people continue showing up for one another, and that is something truly special. Thank you to everyone who helped make sure families were supported and cared for yesterday.

Last night at the Gwinnett County Fire Training Academy, Class #39 got hands-on experience learning about Fire and Medical Drills. From training exercises to emergency response techniques, the class had an exciting evening gaining insight into the skills, teamwork, and dedication it takes to serve our community.

Thank you to all of the instructors, firefighters, and staff who continue to make these experiences both educational and unforgettable for our class members. Another great night of learning!

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing CFA volunteers who gave their time and compassion at today’s Food Distribution at Lenora Park on May 12, 2026. ❤️

Your kindness, teamwork, and dedication helped make a difference for so many families in our community. Whether loading cars, organizing food, greeting guests, or simply offering a smile, every act of service mattered.

We are so grateful for each volunteer who continues to show what community service and caring hearts are all about. Thank you for representing the CFA family so beautifully and for always stepping up to help others.

What a wonderful day at the Touch a Truck Family Field Trip with Build Babies Brains on Friday, May 8th at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds! 🚒🚲🐾

A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing CRR Educators, Firefighters, and CFA Volunteers who helped make this special event such a success. Your time, kindness, and dedication helped create a fun and educational experience for so many families and children in our community.

This year’s Pop Up Safety Town, in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta doctors and residents, featured important safety stations focused on Helmet Safety, Pedestrian Safety, and Animal Safety. Our outstanding CRR Educators worked tirelessly fitting and distributing free bicycle helmets to our little participants, helping keep our children safe while they ride and play.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, participated, and supported this meaningful event. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces made it all worthwhile! ❤️🧑‍🚒👧

Checking in on Gwinnett Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Class #39! 🚒

This past week, the class had an exciting hands-on learning experience with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. Participants learned the proper use of fire extinguishers, gained valuable knowledge about house fires and Fire & Life Safety inside the training unit, and even experienced what it’s like to ride in a fire truck!

These real-world experiences give our class a deeper understanding of the training, teamwork, and dedication our firefighters demonstrate every day to help keep our community safe.

A huge thank you to all of the instructors, firefighters, staff, and CFA volunteers who continue to make these classes educational, engaging, and unforgettable for our CFA students. We can’t wait to see what Class #39 learns next!
