Great interview with Ashley Dudley, one of the Panelists on the Autistic Women's Panel, about her experiences in being diagnosed with autism as an adult and whether or not the diagnosis has resulted in a difference in the way her employer has treated her.

While holding down a job is important for individuals who are on the spectrum, navigating the waters of employment can often be challenging.  Especially when you receive a diagnosis later in life while holding a job.   Here to talk about this issue with us...

Although the “Rise Up, Speak Up, Power Up” Autistic Women’s Panel has been postponed, the Panelists will have the opportunity to be interviewed during a podcast to discuss the topics that they will be presenting later in the year. Some very interesting topics indeed.

I am so honored to have Haley Moss as my Keynote Speaker at the “Rise Up, Speak Up, Power Up”Autistic Women’s Panel later this year.

It’s no secret is difficult for all of us, especially autistic people who thrive on routine and knowing what to expect. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard on me, too as I adjust to a “new normal.”

But I am here for all of us, and for you. Part of being involved in the community means holding space for everyone when things are difficult, and also being authentic by sharing when things are hard!

I was in Alaska earlier this month, and I am grateful for the adventure I had alongside the Alaska Autism Resource Center. Unfortunately, Alaska was my last travel adventure for a while.

CDC guidelines prohibit large gatherings, so events and conferences are cancelled or postponed. While I was looking forward to meeting many of you across the US in the next few months, whether it was in California, New York, or anywhere in between, public health and safety must always come first. Just because we won’t get to shake hands or hug or take selfies together, that by no means diminishes the importance of our community and the need for autism acceptance and disability inclusion, or means I won’t hold space for you - because I will, and am committed to doing so.

I will still be advocating and doing my best to be active here on social media, and keep advocating and creating from home. We are all affected by this pandemic, and the disability community will not be left behind!

Live from Florida - until we meet again in person, and until then, I will be sharing as much as I can while advocating and making my work online as accessible as humanly possible ❤️

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

I have been monitoring the situation and advice from the CDC and WHO, regarding COVID-19 and after careful deliberation Powerhouse Strong has decided to postpone its “Rise Up, Speak Up Power Up” Autistic Women’s Panel.

This was not an easy decision, but was made with the health and physical safety of the attendees, speakers, partners and others involved, in mind.

I am currently in the process of locking in a new date for this empowering event in either late August or early September. Please stay tuned.

We are just 3 weeks away from Powerhouse Strong's "Rise Up, Speak Up, Power Up" Autistic Women's Panel on Saturday, March 28th, 2020. The topic is "The Importance of Neurodiversity and Inclusion in the Workplace."

I would like to introduce one of our six Panelists, Ashley Dudley.

Ashley’s story is unique as she was diagnosed later in life as an adult with Aspergers Syndrome, a form of Autism. All of her life she knew something was “different”. She had hardly any friends, was placed in Special Education classes for the most part of her school life, and was bullied by her peers for being in the Special Ed classes. Fast forward, she has come to love and accept herself for who she is and has realized that this is how God chose to make and design her! She is now currently a successful Certified Nursing Assistant, Dental Assistant, and soon to be Special Education Teacher.
