“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.”— Cesar Chavez
In these words lie the true spirit of our continued efforts to improve lives and make communities better. On the 23rd January, The Haja Marie Kargbo Foundation, as part of its Love your neighbour as yourself campaign, organized an entrepreneurial training program for twenty eight (28) potential beneficiaries from eleven churches. This training was moderated by a commercial and business expert with a vast knowledge in Business administration and management with intentional value of money.
Over a year ago, we expressed the undertaking to cross borders, ie beyond the mosque and the Regent community to other parts of the country. Rightly so, this training was conducted in Bo with a fixed mandate of identifying, training and expanding the recipients of our grants and loans over a wider range in the country.
In due time, these trainees will benefit from our program and start profitable commercial ventures. Their lives will only get better from here and so too will the communities where they are from.
The foundation will continue to live up to the standards it has set for itself and contribute to the change Mama Salone is driving towards.
