Founded by a trans man of color, I Am Human was created to empower the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Our goal is to create a safe space for individuals who are homeless, living with HIV, and trans youth, with a focus on those who experience discrimination

Our friends at Project Glimmer are hosting Empower Hours, a FREE virtual speaker series that puts you face-to-face with women leading the way in beauty, tech, finance, entertainment, and more. Each session brings a panel of accomplished professionals sharing how they got where they are, what they wish they'd known, and real advice for your next steps.

You'll get to ask questions live, practice networking, and get an inside look at companies and careers you may have never considered.

Today is a milestone for our community.

Our founder, Alex Santiago, has released a new book that we have been waiting to share with you. Beyond the Box: 365 Daily Affirmations for Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Expansive People is available now on Kindle, with the paperback edition launching June 15, 2026.

Meet The I Am Human Foundation (📍 United States 🇺🇸)

The I Am Human Foundation is a Black trans-led organization supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Black and Brown LGBTQ+ youth across Atlanta and rural Georgia.

In response to COVID-19, the organization launched both its Healing Through Art program and MentorHER program to meet the growing mental health needs of young people during a time of increased isolation and uncertainty.

Through free therapy, counseling, and art therapy, the I Am Human Foundation ensures young people can access care without financial or social barriers. Their Healing Through Art program provides a structured space where young people can process trauma, build coping skills, and express themselves creatively with support from trained staff and licensed professionals.

In a region where affirming mental health services can be difficult to access due to insurance gaps, long wait times, or unsafe environments, the organization partners with schools, shelters, and group homes to bring care directly to young people who need it most.

With support from the Kindness in Community Fund, the I Am Human Foundation expanded weekly therapy sessions, provided art supplies, and increased outreach, helping more than 200 young people access consistent mental health support and a safe space to be heard.
