Your friendly neighborhood secretary is putting together flags for the pride parade on Saturday.

Come help us wave all of these!

Participants will gather at 10 am outside Alden Library, with the parade stepping off at 11 am and wrapping up around 12 pm.

We've signed up to march in the upcoming Southeastern Ohio Rainbow Alliance Pride Parade!

Participants will be lining up at 10 am on Saturday, outside of Alden Library (30 Park Pl).

Step-off for the parade is at 11 am and it will end at roughly 12 pm (though usually ends a little sooner).

If you'd like to join us, please reach out (in the comments, via DM, or by email) so we can coordinate.

Did you know about Rural Action’s Medical Donation Program? They collect and redistribute new and used medical equipment and supplies free of charge to community members who need them free of charge! We've got plenty of Cribettes through our Cribs for Kids and Safe Sleep Education grant for Athens County. Text or call our Family Navigator Program at 740-593-0037. Our amazing Athens City-County Health Department partners also provide Safe Sleep education and distribute cribs. Kits include a detachable bassinet, Sleep Sack and fitted crib sheet.
Grandparents or caregivers looking after an infant in their home are also encouraged to call.

WIC, Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF recipients are automatically eligible. Otherwise, a stated income of 185% or less of federal poverty level is the guideline, which is roughly $30,000 for a family of 1, $40,000 for a family of 2, $50,500 for a family of 3, $61,500 for a family of 4, and so on. (If the pregnant person is the one seeking the crib, or if baby lives with caregiver, add the baby to the household size, even if baby is not yet born.)

That said, if someone doesn't meet those guidelines but still needs a safe place for baby to sleep, please ask. ❤️
