To every dad who’s been dragged into the lake by a leash, who’s had a tennis ball dropped on his lap mid-Zoom call, who’s learned the hard way that “Labrador” and “leftovers” don’t mix — happy Father’s Day.

Being a good dog dad means endless fetch even when your arm is tired, a couch covered in fur you’ve stopped fighting, and a love so big it usually weighs at least 70 pounds. Dogs don’t know what Father’s Day is, but they know who shows up for walks, who sneaks them treats, and who they trust completely. That’s you.

To the dads who opened their homes to dogs — who saw past the shedding and the chewed-up furniture to the goofy, loyal heart underneath — thank you. You gave a dog who needed everything a home that gave them everything back.

Remembering all of Sophia’s pups,
Ginny, born in 2016 with her other siblings. She crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024, her human mom remembered her today so we thought we’d share this lovely photo of Ginny and the amazing puppy litter photo from 2016.
