Congrats to Grace Coleman, Hampton Roads Chapter, who completed her long cross-country flight. Bonus, as a First Wings winner, a $ 2000 check will be headed her way in recognition of her completing this milestone.

Grace shared "Going up for that extensive period of time and communicating on several frequencies instilled a new confidence in me as a pilot. I can’t wait to make more long trips (preferably to tropical places) once I receive my license."

A few of our members attended the Norfolk Can Fly 2023 event, and shared the joy of aviation with youth and adults. The Aviation Institute Of Maintenance, ORF Personnel, American Airlines, Virginia Pathways Flight Academy, Virginia Department of Aviation, MartinAir, and the Experimental Aircraft Association were also on-site! Great flying weather permitted aircraft arrival for static display and hands-on sessions with the public!

In Sep 2021 the Hampton Roads Ninety-Nines pooled resources with the EAA - The Spirit of Aviation (chapters 156 & 339) to prepare & paint a compass 🧭 rose at Williamsburg Jamestown Airport.
It was an exhausting but enjoyable time, and we are thankful for the generous donation time and materials of all involved in this project. Hopefully we can get a group photo if stars are aligned 🤔.
