AAUW mourns the passing of Gloria Steinem, a pioneering journalist, activist, and champion for women’s equality.
A leader in the movement for gender equity, Steinem helped advance many of the issues that remain central to AAUW’s mission today. In 2003, AAUW honored her with the AAUW Achievement Award, recognizing her lasting impact and extraordinary contributions to advancing women and girls.
We honor her remarkable legacy and remain committed to carrying the work for equality forward.
