Paul The Cat Guy

Paul The Cat Guy Saving and improving the lives of homeless cats and kittens in NYC. Then one can turned into two, then four, then six each night. That was in August 2014.

It began by feeding a single can of cat food to a couple of cats by a set of co-op buildings in Astoria, Queens. Before I knew it, I was caretaking a colony of cats and that is how I began my quest. Wanting to do something to help them, within a few months I began Trap-Neuter-Return of those cats along with rescuing a litter of four kittens from one of the females I was feeding. Since then, I have

been actively responding to reports of kittens in alleyways, colonies of unfixed cats in back yards, homeless friendly cats, and other cat-related situations. Since August 2014 I have directly saved or improved the lives of over 5000 cats and kittens through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), kitten rescue and adoptions, and the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of thrown out and abandoned adult cats. Indirectly I have helped many, many more through personal assistance and education. Tax deductible donations can be made via PayPal: www.paypal.me/paulthecatguyinc

I haven't been posting a lot, but the time I have outside of my 60 hour/week job, I've been running full speed trying to handle as many requests as possible.

I never know what I'm going to get. Small TNR projects, large TNR projects, friendly cats found while trapping for TNR, and of course KITTENS. Many are out there with sick eyes and need help. Thanks for saving this one's eyes.

And to top it off I have a mental list of about 8 friendly adults whom I want to get off the street but I can only take them one at a time as I adopt out others.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to Paul The Cat Guy. Inc. We desperately need funds for 4 dentals this month and a slew of other medical charges. And the cat food, oh the cat food.

Our donations are for the cats and for safe keeping of these guys in our care, whether it is at a recovery space, a foster home, or one of my apartments that I rent with my own hard earned money. The donations go to everything the cats would need for as long as they're with us. We put these cats in the best position to find a permanent forever home.

Thank you for your ongoing support!!

ADOPT SPARROW!

Everyone wanted me to not give her back to her former owner after being a skittish cat in a soon to be closed 9o cent store. Well, he agreed to surrender her to us but now not even a single person has applied to adopt her.

SPARROW is about 2 years old, now spayed and fully vetted. She is calm, delicate, and sweet. She sometimes gets startled and runs back to her safe area of the house but when you give her a chance she becomes a happy lapcat.

Who is going to adopt SPARROW?

Please SHARE her post far and wide.

NYC area residents can apply to adopt SPARROW here:

HARD TO ADOPT CAT OF THE WEEK: SOPHIE

I rescued SOPHIE at 8 weeks old. She's now 2 years old. I've posted her on social media in addition to PetFinder and have only received a handful of inquiries/apps for her. In those instances the person ended up choosing a different cat or just ghosted us.

SOPHIE is spayed and fully vetted. She was friendly as a kitten, however as she's gotten older she is less into people, sometimes skittish. She likes being by herself or hanging out with other foster cats. This is what happens when a cat is in foster and is not getting enough attention. I cannot devote 3 hours of hands on fostering each day in addition to working 8-16 hours at my regular job, and another 3 hours a day cleaning the recovery space (not counting days I am trapping).

That being said, I need an adopter for SOPHIE. Someone cat experienced with no expectations. No allergies, no kids, no constant house parties. A homeowner with a couple of other cats would be ideal for her.

Every day I open up my messages and emails, and 90% of the correspondence is people pointing out friendly cats in their yard that they won't take inside but want me to take and have that cat live in my apartment. Rescuers are literally dumping grounds for most.

I must make space in order to help others.

Adopters for SOPHIE can live within 4 hours of NYC but must be approved. We do not do reckless handoffs of our cats. Someone please step up and adopt her. I've cut off rescuing more friendlies until at least two of my harder to adopt cats leave. Please SHARE this post!

SWEET WILLOW

My sweet rescue WILLOW is heading off on an adoption trial!

I took her to my vet for a pre-adoption exam and it was recommended that she get a dental.

Her dental was $880.

Not terrible for a dental, but overall it's going to be a bad 8 weeks as I have 5 more cats needing dentals. Some will need multiple extractions.

I hate posting fundraisers for individual cats nowadays, because the donations hardly ever hit the intended goal.

But I want to give it a shot because in a week the next dental comes up, and then a week later the next. We just can't afford these bills unless I beg for infusions of cash.

Please help me hit the goal of $880 to fund WILLOW'S dental. I have a food bill for the week that matches that, so if it's not one thing it's something else.

Thank you guys for all of your help with the PTCG cats.

KITTENS AND MOM RESCUE IN QUEENS VILLAGE

I called out of work to dissect the clutter in this garage. Got mom in the neighbor's yard and corraled the first three kittens in the weeds and under a lawnmower. The 4th kitten was nowhere to be found. I set up six kitten traps with motion sensors but nothing. We went back at 3am and heard him in the weeds between the two houses. Once again I corraled him into going in a hole in the fence right into one of my transfer cages. PROJECT COMPLETE!

If you would like to support to my rescue work, please consider making a tax deductible donation to my organization, Paul The Cat Guy, Inc. All of your funding goes toward the rescue missions, the equipment, the foster care (food, litter, and supplies), and mostly the medical costs. I have a fulltime job to take care of me, but can always use help for the cats. We appreciate your love and support.

More stuff coming soon. I've been working 72 hours/week at my regular non-cat related job so not enough time to trap, film, edit, and post. Running the rescue plus working at my job is 100 hours/week so please support my work! Thank you!

ADOPT SOPHIE!

SOPHIE is about 2 years old, spayed, and fully vetted.

I rescued her and her littermates when they were small but fast kittens. The area they were in had lots of traffic so I was happy to get them out of there.

SOPHIE has always been a cat who does things on her terms. She isn't overly affectionate and she often darts off when you go to pet her. But the times that she does get some petting she raises her butt in the air.

She may not be so much into people but she gets along great with other cats.

If you are a patient adopter who isn't worried about SOPHIE being an affectionate lapcat OR if you have a home with some resident cats already, then SOPHIE would be a good fit. She likes to nap and play with other cats but at the same time is independent.

If you have some space in your home and your heart and would be willing to adopt one of my longest tenured cats in foster, please apply to adopt SOPHIE. She is in the NYC area but would be open to having her go long distance if it meant getting her a great home.
