Save the date. A friend of mine Bob Wendling has open house for his nonprofit organization yearly dedicated to helping wounded warriors, veterans and youth hunting and education. We brought 3 dogs last year a got to speak about S&D. We will have one lab Service Dog there that also has makings of good hunting dog and is available for a veteran that may want to apply through Soldiers and Dogs nonprofit. It’s a great event.

We couldn’t pass up sharing comments from Rickie, the veteran who was a perfect match with Ruby. Rickie was homebound with some medical issues when we met to make our video.

“I just love Ruby so much. She loves attention and is always there for me. I don’t believe in reincarnation, but there are days I would think my wife has come back in the form of a dog.”❤️😭

We are thankful to Rick for his service of our country and appreciate him sharing his experiences.

One of our veterans could not make it to the filming for our video recapping some of the stories and successes of the mission. With his permission, we couldn’t miss sharing his input.

“Gunner is the smartest dog. He is a best friend and part of the family. I only wish I could take him riding in the side car more often. He sits in it every day waiting for me to take him for a ride. The training is essential and I can’t say enough for what Gary and Soldiers and Dogs has meant to me.”

As a sidenote, Bob shared with us that Gunner now weighs 130 pounds!!
