Join us for the 12th Annual Aspen Invitational Bike Ride on July 15, 2023. will join together for a heartfelt 100K ride through the breathtaking mountains of Aspen. As we ride to empower individuals, their families and communities, each rider and sponsor will contribute funds to support clean water developments for children and families in Zambia. It’s ALMOST Time! Are you ready for the Aspen Invitational 2024?

We are two weeks out from the event of the summer! If you haven’t yet, please register! We want YOU to be a part of Braking the Cycle of poverty in Zambia with us. Our flagship event takes place on Saturday July 13, 2024 in the beautiful mountains of Aspen, Colorado. Choose your adventure:

100k Road Ride – The Classic! Challenge yourself with over 5,000 feet of climbing and swift descents in the gorgeous scenery of the Elk Mountains. Like smooth pavement, but not tough gears? We have dedicated spots for e-bikers. You can also choose to ride a shorter route – such as Castle Creek, the Maroon Bells, or a combination!

BTC MTB –The route takes riders on some of the best single track in Colorado, with the option to go as long as 28.8 miles, and multiple shorter loops.

Walk for Water – As hikers, we invite you to enjoy a fully supported morning outdoor adventure, enjoy the views and the feeling of being part of nature. It is $200 to join and your registration fee will provide clean water for four people! Two routes will be offered this year:

American Lake 6.5 Mile Hike (Challenging Route)
Victorian West End Walking Tour (Easy Route)

The minimum donation or fundraising commitment for cycling is $750 with a goal of $2500 per rider*. Our event goal is $300,000, or clean water for 6,000 people for a lifetime! Every dollar raised goes directly to the field. Brake the Cycle and World Vision are committed to finishing the job in Zambia by reaching everyone, everywhere we work with clean water by 2025.

SBT GRVL (Steamboat Springs Gravel Ride) on August 18th is a world-class gravel race experience held on the greatest gravel roads on Earth in and around the magnificent Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The unique combination of the quiet roads surrounding a thriving resort town create a setting for an incredible gravel bike race.

For our participating donors, we want to focus not only on the ride, but a fantastic weekend away with family and friends and riding for a meaningful purpose. The beauty of the mountains (not to mention the camaraderie with fellow cyclists) as well as the basic challenge of covering these gravel roads on two wheels is something that will not soon be forgotten. This year’s Aspen Invitational Hiking Adventure on July 12th will have two route options: moderate and advanced.

We are thrilled to support Brake the Cycle partner, Mawa McQueen, in the launch of her new book. Her Unstoppable Ambition is clear as day to our Board and the people of Zambia. In December funded a clean water well for a community of 300 and she has almost completely funded her second one.
