🩷 What started as a small idea...just a simple conversation about how to bring back hope to help others in a time of crisis, quickly grew into something bigger than we ever imagined. The Hope Wagon reached hundreds of families across Asheville and the surrounding WNC mountains after Hurricane Helene in 2024. It fulfilled the purpose we dreamed for it… and honestly, exceeded anything we thought was possible! 💛

Although the mission we set out to accomplish has been met, The Hope Wagon itself will never truly go away. Our hearts will always be open to spreading joy, love, hope, and happiness whenever and wherever it’s needed! 💞

As we head into the holiday season, if you have any children’s items (ages 0–18) in NEW or GENTLY USED condition that you’d like to give or donate, we’re more than happy to help get them into the hands of local families who need them!

🌞 Although we’ve been quiet on our page, we’ve never stopped giving HOPE this summer. 🌞

Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy collecting items and making donations for our community kids and their families. We’ve gathered clothing, shoes, books, room décor, toys, games, and stuffed animals — all reminders that hope is still alive here in Western NC. 💙

The best part of this journey has been watching my own kids take part. They give freely, without expecting anything in return, and find joy simply in knowing that another child is smiling because of their kindness. That’s what true HOPE looks like. 💛

We may be working silently, but together we are making a very LOUD difference. 🚐✨

Donated items ready to go to Swannanoa this weekend! 👏 We’re bringing food, hygiene and feminine products, household necessities, items for kids, socks, undergarments, and even a Bluetooth speaker to bring a little joy! Every single item was donated with love, and it’s so fulfilling to know they’ll go directly to individuals and families navigating tough times.

Spreading Hope in Leicester Today! 😊

The Hope Wagon is excited to continue giving back to the community! Today, 4/16, we're thrilled to be delivering a donation to the Leicester Community Center to support their food and supply distribution event, which runs until 2:00 PM.

We’re proud to be donating a variety of items including:

Household essentials

Children’s clothing

Toys and books

And much more!

Gratitude and Hope: The Ongoing Impact of The Hope Wagon

As we reflect on the months since swept through western North Carolina, our hearts are full of gratitude. What began as a response to devastation has grown into a mission of light, hope, and healing for children and teens across our community.

The Hope Wagon was created to bring positivity to young lives—ages 0 to 18—who faced unimaginable loss. And thanks to the generosity of so many, we are still here, still moving forward, and still making a difference. 💪

We cannot believe our voices were heard all the way up in New Jersey by a beautiful organization called Project CheerUp!! Their team reached out, wanting to support our cause, and offered a generous donation specifically for teenagers. We are beyond thankful for their kindness, and for the delivery they made right to our doorstep. 👏

Because of Project CheerUp, we’ve been able to get these donations out to areas like Swannanoa and Leicester—ensuring that teens in those communities know they are seen, loved, and not alone. ❤️

It's moments like these that remind us how far compassion can travel, and how deeply it can impact those who need it most! The continued support from our donors and partners is what keeps The Hope Wagon rolling—and we are so grateful to each and every one of you who believes in this mission.

Here are some donations The Hope Wagon was honored to drop off last week to Clyde A. Erwin Middle for their resource store! The community can shop for free every Monday starting at 5pm, and enjoy a provided meal for the whole family! They also offer fun activities and tutoring. It was wonderful to visit Swannanoa and The Blessing Project for the first time this past Friday! They've been doing incredible work since WNC has been hit by . The Hope Wagon was inspired and able to donate items such as emergency blankets, hot hands, children's books, baby supplies, household items, and more! We are small but mighty and with the help of others, like you all, can make a big difference in our beloved community! Thank you to the blessing barn for being so welcoming and accepting our donations ❤️ We pray for those suffering, especially with this severe storm coming through our area! 🙏
