If you haven't attended one of our 'Resilient Family Adventure' events lately, we recommend checking one out soon!👀

We're excited to offer a new take-home activity book, full of age-appropriate stories and fun activities for elementary-aged kids to learn about their nervous system.

This valuable companion resource is intended to reinforce RFR's key concepts and teachings and inspire practice of skills introduced at our signature RFA events.

Children ages 6-10 can work through the workbook independently or with a caregiver to:
🏕EXPLORE the brain/body connection
🏕LEARN about the Resilience Zone, and other nervous system states
🏕UNDERSTAND how to tune in, and translate, physical sensations

"As I come into a place of safety and connection, I can then send that same message to your nervous system, and your nervous system can feel welcomed, and then it begins to ripple out. My hope is that this ripples out and as more people feel a bit more safe in the world, our world becomes a more safe place to be. " ✍Deb Dana

Big systems are often out of our control, but our own nervous system is a place where real change can start.

When we focus on regulating ourselves with tools that promote safety, grounding, and connection, we become more able to offer that sense of safety to others. And when someone else feels safer with us, their nervous system responds. That creates a ripple effect: one regulated body helping another, slowly shaping a safer community and, eventually, a safer world.

THIS is why we do what we do!

Happy Birthday to our fun and fearless leader!🎂

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ann DuPre Rogers, began her journey with Resources For Resilience in 2017 as one of the original founders. Then she officially became the Executive Director in 2019.

With years of experience in community mental health and education, A.D. has been pivotal to helped make RFR what it is today. Our Community Collaboration Specialist, Lindsey, said it best:

“So thankful to live in a world where RFR exists with a leader as amazing as Ann DuPre! Thank you for all your support, love, kindness and leadership throughout the years! "

It's National Gardening Week! 🌱

If you've attended one of our programs, you may have learned how "heavy work" is one of the best tools for nervous system regulation.

This is because gardening and landscaping activities activate the parasympathetic nervous system- the part responsible for rest, digestion, and calm.

Research shows that even a few minutes of tending to the yard can lower cortisol, steady your breathing, and shift your brain into a more regulated state.

We can't always avoid stress, fear, or heartbreak. When we allow our uncomfortable feelings to be noticed and witnessed with compassion, we tend not only to ourselves, but also to our families and our communities. Even in the hardest moments, steadiness can be sensed.
