INSIDE this weekend! We’re so honored to partner with and for an intimate botanically-inspired art event for your Valentine gift-giving and winter-warming.

The weekend’s artists echo the imaginative, nature-forward ethos of the Arboretum’s current exhibition TROLLS: A Field Study by artist , creating a dialogue between art, environment, and community.
It’s also one of your last chances to see the trolls, and with parking fees waived on Sunday, you can do so for free!

Framed by the Arboretum’s living collections and winter landscapes, The Little Crafty invites visitors to engage with art that grows from nature meeting craftsmanship. The Little Crafty celebrates regional artists, nature-inspired making, and the creative spirit of Western North Carolina. It will feature a carefully curated group of artists whose work draws inspiration from the natural world — botanicals, landscapes, wildlife, and the handmade traditions of the Blue Ridge.

The Little Crafty is free to attend, but there is a parking fee for The North Carolina Arboretum on Saturday. As part of the celebration, Sunday, February 8 will be a free Community Day, with the Arboretum’s parking fee waived to welcome one and all!

We are so excited to announce The Little Crafty, a new, intimate craft market celebrating regional artists, nature-inspired making, and the creative spirit of Western North Carolina.
Join us Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8, from 1–6 pm in the North Carolina Arboretum’s Auditorium for a carefully curated group of artists whose work draws inspiration from the natural world. Bringing botanicals, landscapes, wildlife, and the handmade traditions of the Blue Ridge all framed by the Arboretum’s living collections and winter landscapes. The Little Crafty invites visitors to engage with art that grows from nature meeting craftsmanship, and the event is timely for warm Valentine’s Day gift-giving.

Raise a Glass to our partnership in craft with . Fonta Flora has long had our hearts. Their commitment to a flourishing natural and human environment is admirable and evident in everything they do, but we love them most for their dedication to and brilliant experimentation with the time-honored craft of brewing. (They also happen to have the best design in the biz, thanks to Woolly Press!) We are so honored to have logo that built for us on the can that holds their craft!

HOW did we get so LUCKY? Surrounded by brilliant, big-hearted, passionate, community-minded creatives AND a dedicated community of supporters so ready to lift them up and celebrate with them. It’s magic. This is what a whole and thriving and joyous community looks like.

This weekend we heard from local folks who’ve never missed an event since 2008 and from folks who trekked from all over. (As always, we delighted in hearing from the folks whose loved ones had dragged them along. In a story repeated again and again over nearly 2 decades, they end up connecting with artists, finding treasures, and letting us know they’ll be I don’t think you’re out of space I think it’s the display Folks from near and far let us know how welcomed they felt and how inspired. May we all find such welcome and inspiration in community and handmade ingenuity.

Giant thanks to , , , , and Trevor for getting all those spaces marked. Thank you to Darris, , Stell, , , Andrew, Reuben, Lawson and Oliver for helping us get loaded in and out. Everything was smooth because of you all. To the staff, we love and appreciate you all. We are always excited to see you and the “homecoming” feelings that everyone talks about …you all are very much a part of that.

, you provided the get-up we needed all weekend and you sure took care of our makers. We’re so grateful.
