The Gamma Alpha chapter, founded in 2003, as the first graduate chapter of the sorority, is determined to continue its efforts in uplifting our surrounding communities and serve as model of excellence in the DMV area. Today, there are nearly 160 Hermanas throughout the region, that include women from all over the country. The Mid-Atlantic Region's professional sisters are diverse and successful, whose expertise range from government to non-profit work, higher education to business professionals. Professional affiliations include: U.S. Army, National Council of La Raza, American Kidney Fund, and SHW Group. Current undergraduate Hermanas are both scholars and leaders in their community, while managing their undergraduate chapters, setting example for their fellow students and following their high bar set forth by their alumnae Hermanas.
