Let’s get ready for a Juneteenth weekend to remember with Inspire Life ✨💡

We are celebrating a decade of impact this Juneteenth weekend and you are invited to be part of it 🖤

Friday night, join us for our Decades Dance 🕺🏾💃🏾 Come dressed in your birth era and get ready to party to the music that defined the years. It is going to be a fun, high energy night you will not want to miss. And of course we will be honoring great Black leaders and allies in our community!

Then on Saturday, as an official North to Shore Festival event, we are bringing the community together once again to celebrate Juneteenth ✊🏾 Come out, enjoy the day, connect with amazing organizations, and experience the culture, the joy, and the unity.

Last night our creatives were invited to the House of Independents to receive a special donation of more than $6,000 in music equipment for our Creator’s Lab program.

We are grateful to the Kool Kids Foundation for their generosity and commitment to young people. A special thank you to Robert “Kool” Bell of “Kool & the Gang”, the legacy of his wife Sakinah, and their sons Hakim and Muhammad for carrying forward a vision that continues to open doors for youth through music. Their belief that “It’s Kool To Keep Music Alive in School” is real and we felt that fully last night.

Our creatives had the chance to be in the room, hear incredible music, and feel what it means to be surrounded by artists who care. Moments like this matter. Access matters. And opportunities like this help our young people move from simply enjoying music to creating it.

We are thankful and we are excited to keep building.

Inspire Life is a community-rooted nonprofit founded by Carla and Semaj Vanzant to address gaps in access to high-quality, culturally affirming opportunities for youth and families along the Jersey Shore. What began as a response to the lack of affordable summer programming has grown into a dynamic organization serving hundreds of young people and their families each year.
Grounded in a deep commitment to equity, community, and purpose, Inspire Life empowers youth to pursue their passions and expand their sense of possibility.
Through programs such as Freedom School, Creator's Lab, and Inspire Life STEAM Camp, young people engage in literacy-rich experiences, creative expression, and hands-on learning in areas like music, film, technology, and leadership development.
At its core, Inspire Life is about more than programming. It is about creating spaces where young people are seen, supported, and equipped to thrive. By nurturing confidence, identity, and academic growth, Inspire Life is helping to shape a generation of leaders who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities and bevond.
