MRBO joined the International Plastic Pellet Count and found nurdles in the Mississippi River!

Nurdles are the base material for plastic. They are 1- to 5-mm pellets made of fossil fuels and chemicals. Since they are so small, produced constantly, and shipped worldwide, nurdles are easy to lose. They get lost during manufacturing and transit, piling up in lakes, rivers, and the ocean. In all these places, they threaten wildlife and leach toxins.

The less plastic we produce, the fewer nurdles we will lose, and the safer our waterways will be.
