Change begins when men stand up for the future of children. We recently hosted Men’s Sensitization Forum focused on a vital mission: increasing parental involvement in children education in Pusanki, Transmara South. Through honest, open dialogue, the men of Pusanki took a firm stand against the practices that cut our girls' futures short including FGM, early marriage, and early pregnancy. When fathers invest in their children's education, the whole society rises.

The sub-zonal ball games held at Ildolisho Comprehensive School provided a wonderful platform for our junior high students to showcase their talent, teamwork, and determination. Their exemplary performance is a testament to their skill, as well as the discipline and resilience they cultivate daily. Beyond fitness, sports offer a vital space for young girls to develop confidence and lifelong leadership skills.

Knowledge has the power to transform communities and protect the future of girls. A community sensitization forum held in Chilani, Transmara East brought together community members to discuss the dangers of female ge***al mutilation (FGM), teen pregnancy, and child marriage, while highlighting the importance of educating and empowering girls. Through open dialogue and community engagement, we are working together to create safe environments where every girl can learn, grow, and achieve her dreams free from harmful practices.

Bringing healthcare closer to the people who need it most continues to transform lives. In Ntuka area, Transmara West, 113 patients accessed much-needed medical services through our outreach initiative aimed at improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations. When barriers to healthcare are reduced, individuals can thrive, children can learn, and families can build brighter futures. Every outreach is a reminder that access to health services is a powerful tool for community transformation.

Our Environment Club members participated in a valuable learning experience at Transmara Sugar Company, where they gained practical knowledge on establishing and managing nurseries for tree seedlings and vegetables. The experience equipped them with skills that they will now apply in starting nurseries that promote environmental conservation, food security, and climate resilience. Together, we are raising a generation who understand the importance of environmental stewardship and are ready to lead the way toward a healthier planet.

Our clinic team held the first session with teen mothers, bringing them together in a safe, supportive, and empowering space to share their lived experiences. With 14 teen mothers in attendance, the session provided an important opportunity for honest conversations around the realities they face, including stigma and discrimination, financial challenges, school dropout, lack of support, and emotional distress. Despite these challenges, the courage and openness shown by the participants affirmed the urgent need for continued support. Through guided discussions, the group began building trust, connection, and a sense of community aimed at strengthening resilience and hope.

We joined the world in commemorating Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 at Kesingtone Hall, Oloosinon Girls Secondary School in Transmara South, and St. Joseph Comprehensive School in Transmara West under the theme: “Together for a .”. The events focused on raising awareness on menstrual hygiene management while advocating for an environment where no girl misses school because of her period. During the engagements, sanitary pads were distributed to girls to support their health, confidence, and uninterrupted learning.

Our girls were proud to host Hildah Nyangara, a nurse at Enoosaen Health Center, on the Kakenya Center for Excellence Podcast. The engaging session focused on Menstrual Hygiene, where the girls had an open and informative discussion about menstrual health, hygiene practices, breaking stigma, and empowering young girls with the right knowledge and confidence. At Kakenya’s Dream, we continue to create safe spaces where girls can learn, ask questions, and grow into informed and empowered leaders. A big thank you to Hildah Nyangara for sharing her expertise and inspiring our girls.
