💔 A Heartbreaking Update on Genie
Unfortunately, our sweet Genie did not make it through today as we had hoped.
After speaking at length with her doctor about her condition and prognosis, we were faced with an incredibly painful decision. We ultimately agreed that the kindest and most compassionate course of action was to let Genie go peacefully through humane euthanasia while she was still under anesthesia.
We are absolutely heartbroken. 💔 We wanted so badly to give Genie the chance at the life she deserved, but sometimes loving them means making the hardest decision of all — choosing peace when continuing would only mean more suffering.
To everyone who stood behind Genie: thank you. Thank you to every person who donated toward her care, her incredible fosters who gave her love and comfort, the drivers who helped get her where she needed to be, our volunteers, her veterinary team, and every person who shared her story, prayed for her, or sent words of encouragement.
You all became part of Genie’s story. Because of you, she was surrounded by people fighting for her and, most importantly, she knew love and compassion.
We wish we could have given you a different update today.
Rest peacefully, sweet Genie. 🌈🐾 You mattered. You were loved. And you will not be forgotten. 💔
