Misíon: Fomentar liderazgos en la comunidad LGBT Latina del área metropolitana de Washington para mejorar su calidad de vida. It is not a secret that Northern Virginia lack programs and services that are sensitive and cultural competent to address and take care of the needs of our Latinx LGBTQ community. As Impacto LGBT, an independent group, we strongly believe that the only way that can be changed is by creating it ourselves. It is time we come together as one community to make the change we want to see, even if that means starting from scratch. A group of us members of the Latinx LGBT community of Northern Virginia have gathered because we are not only aware of the need of our community in this region but have decided to stop just talking and complaining about it, take the lead, take charge, responsibility and action. We need programs, organizations and movements led by LGBT individuals. It is time we become visible and speak up! It is time to come out of the shadows and address our needs as Latinxs LGBT who reside, work, have families and pay taxes in Virginia. It is time we show our LATINX LGBT FACES and stop being invisible to become invencible. Please join me- join us in this challenging but amazing journey; it is time to make it happen and most importantly we can do the impossible possible if we join hands, energy, ideas and love together!
