Announcing the 2026 Antiracist Curriculum and Pedagogy Mini-Grant Recipients The NASUP Awards Committee and Antiracism Committee are thrilled to announce the recipients of our first-ever Antiracist Curriculum and Pedagogy Mini-Grants!
Given the complex political climate surrounding this essential work, the names and institutions of the awardees have been respectfully redacted. The two selected projects each will receive $500 in funding to support innovative, equity-driven educational initiatives.

Today, NASUP honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we cherish.

As educators and leaders committed to shaping future generations, we also recognize the importance of helping students understand service, sacrifice, and the power of remembering those who came before us.

Global Student Teaching and Culturally Responsive Educator Development

Published in PDS Partners: Bridging Research to Practice, “Intentional Partnerships, Lasting Change: International Student Teaching and the Development of Culturally Responsive Pedagogy” by Eileen Burke Heddy and Suzanne McCotter examines how international student teaching placements shaped preservice teachers’ cultural competence and commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy. Using a sequential mixed-methods study, the authors found that intentional partnerships with international schools strengthened participants’ ability to support multilingual learners, engage diverse classrooms, address complex cultural issues, and develop more inclusive, culturally sustaining teaching practices years after the experience.
