This morning, members of the Arlington Heights Firefighters Association Local 3105 gathered to celebrate the retirement of Firefighter/Paramedic John Volz after an incredible 30 years of dedicated service to the Arlington Heights community.

In true John fashion, he wanted to keep things simple. No big party, no elaborate send off, and certainly no extra attention. But after three decades on the job, his Local 3105 brothers and sisters, both current and retired, weren’t about to let him slip quietly into retirement without recognizing a career worth celebrating.

For 30 years, John served the residents of Arlington Heights alongside generations of firefighters and paramedics, leaving his mark on our department and on everyone who had the privilege of working beside him.

John, congratulations on an outstanding career and a well earned retirement. Thank you for your friendship, your service, and your commitment to Arlington Heights.

Enjoy retirement. You’ve earned it!

Thank you to United for inviting and including members of the Arlington Heights Firefighters Association Local 3105 in today’s September 11th Remembrance Ceremony at the United Network Operations Center.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our fellow first responders, Village officials, United employees, and members of the community as we honored the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001.

It was an honor to be part of such a meaningful tribute.

We will never forget.
