Launch Lafayette County announces 2026 grant recipients
Lafayette County this week announced the recipients of the 2026 Launch Lafayette County Grant Program. In June, a total of $45,000 in funding was awarded to 15 local businesses to support growth and development throughout the county.

Created as a collaborative effort between the Lafayette Development Corporation and the Lafayette County Economic Development Committee, the Launch Lafayette County program is designed to support both new and existing businesses. The program is designed to help businesses improve their visibility, enhance facilities, and contribute to the vibrancy of their communities through exterior and interior upgrades, signage improvements, and facade enhancements.

This year, the program saw over 40 applications, requesting more than $250,000 in funding and representing a projected $5 million in private investment in improvement projects across Lafayette County. This strong response underscores the continued demand for small business support and investment in the region.

Thanks to a Small Business Development Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), 2026 marks the program’s sixth and most impactful cycle yet, offering $45,000 in funding for the second year. All awarded funds remain in Lafayette County, contributing to long-term economic vitality and visible improvements across the area.

The 2025 Launch Lafayette County Grant recipients are:

● Argyle Early Learning Center — Argyle

● BA Gunsmithing — Wiota

● Be Rooted Chiropractic & Wellness — Benton

● Blue Ash Tasting Lodge — Argyle

● Darlington Chiropractic Clinic — Darlington

● Darlington Community Childcare Center — Darlington

Tom over at Rejuvenators sent me this as they work on the floors at the new Community Center and future home of the Argyle Public Library. How great does that floor look?

Work is underway to get the bathrooms updated to be completely ADA compliant and add changing tables, etc.

While we reminisce about the outgoing equipment, we are also excited about all that is to come! Our first ADDITION - by very popular demand - "Big Kid" Monkey Bars!

Monkey Bars are a staple in most playgrounds, and the current set Argyle has is outgrown quickly. Monkey bars provide key benefits for development and physical health, and we are excited to upgrade these so children (and adults!) can use and enjoy them even longer.

Top 3 Benefits of Monkey Bars:
1️⃣Upper Body Workout: Monkey bars provide a comprehensive upper body workout. They engage multiple muscle groups, including arms, shoulders, core, and back through a unique range of motion and rotation that activates stabilizer muscles. This type of functional exercise improves overall strength and muscular endurance and offers increased joint protection.

2️⃣Enhancing Grip Strength: Regular use of monkey bars significantly enhances grip strength. This is crucial not only for better performance in various sports and fitness activities but also for daily tasks that require hand strength. Grip strength has also been shown to correlate to overall health.

3️⃣Boosting Core Stability: Navigating monkey bars requires considerable core engagement. This strengthens the abdominal and back muscles, leading to improved posture, reduced back pain, and a stronger core.
