If you would like a hand promoting your local data center / power plant related fundraiser, meeting, hearing or other event, do invite this page so we can help. Events were few when we first started, but they've gained traction. Residents are really stepping up!

Facebook will sometimes (not always) allow us to promote events via paid ads, which we are happy to do as a public service.

Our Events page has been updated with several upcoming events.
We'll be watching for new ones in various local opposition groups, but it's nearly impossible to catch them all. Thank you !

SCOTT TOWNSHIP - It appears that the Weis Market plaza in Scott Township has been sold for $4.5M, although it may have been a related party transaction.

The Grantor was Crown Scott Township Holdings, a Limited Liability Company managed by various members of the Gilchrist family. The deed was signed by Christopher Gilchrist as managing member of the LLC.

The Grantee, recipient of the deed, is William Gilchrist. William (relationship unknown) is not an LLC officer per the PA Dept of State.

Regardless, let's hope no one is out scouting for DC developers....

LACKAWANNA CO - 🎁Gift article from the Scranton Times

EmPower Analytics Group quoted $165,000 to assess the public health and air quality impact of the County's several combined data center and power plant proposals.

Commissioner Bill Gaughan moved to schedule it for a vote later this month, but Thom Welby and Chris Chermak declined to second the motion. Both are in favor of first seeking additional proposals.

When speaking to Chermak and Welby, local resident Eva Rappenglueck said it best:

"The state is not coming to save us. The federal government is not coming to save us. This is on you. … You’re out of time, you’re out of options and you’re running out of excuses."

Tick tock, Lackawanna County. Archbald's massive Wildcat Ridge proposal is scheduled for a 9th hearing on September 9th.

Note: gift article link expires 30 days from Aug 6, 2026.

Speakers at meeting support $165,000 study proposal from EmPower Analytics Group, but no action taken as two of the three commissioners say county should consider other proposals first.

ARCHBALD - Aug 4 - When the Wildcat Ridge conditional use hearings began earlier this year, developer Cornell Realty Management was represented by Attorney Edmund Campbell.

During hearing # 8, they were represented by Mr. Campbell and two additional attorneys. Why three?

A land developer may blame the municipality or the opposition, but many others feel it's a sign that the developer is in fear of losing.

Could it be, the applicant is throwing money at a problem (the community) they just don't know what else to do with?

ARCHBALD - Why did Wildcat Ridge hire a Pennsylvania permitting expert to testify about air quality?

To discredit local opposition’s air quality witness, Dr. Cork.

This expert is of the opinion that the scenarios in Dr. Cork’s report would never be permitted by PA and therefore can not be relied upon.

ARCHBALD - Tonight’s Wildcat Ridge “air quality expert” also specializes in state permit applications. 🧐
