It's a Dog's Life Rescue Our primary mission is to help dogs (mainly those in Humboldt County Animal Shelter), who need inter

We do not have a local facility or an established network of foster homes; we use networking as our primary means of assisting Humboldt County dogs who have been abandoned and need a good new home. We may, on rare occasion, and when no other options exist, place a dog in foster care or work with individuals to arrange adoptions. We facilitate the placement of local dogs in rescues out of the area when we are able to make such arrangements.

UPDATE! RIDE SECURED...2 of our good friends want to do the drive...one is Plan A, the other, Plan B. Thank you both!

We're looking for a ride for a large, 8 year old, lovely lab x lady in the next 1-3 weeks.

She's in the Garberville (CA) area and will be going to Lily's Legacy Senior Large Dog Rescue in Petaluma as soon as they have an opening for her.

Loves to ride in the car, spayed, good health, vax-current and now about 98 lbs (on a diet!).

We have a crate that would probably fit her if driver preferred that she be crated. Crate is in McKinleyville (north of Garberville)

We have 1 possible ride already but want to have a plan B.

URGENT NEED FOR PUPPY (OLDER) FOSTERS!!

This rescue is IN HUMBOLDT CO, CALIF.

🆘️SOS-Urgent!🆘️ please share!

We need fosters or other agency help to take on some pups!

Due to a recent dog attack by some of the neighbors' unattended dogs, we-the fosters and us- have decided it would be best to try to move them out of there ASAP!

The FooFoo litter is still looking for homes but fosters would be greatly appreciated!! They can be separated and go to homes for adoptions or in pairs for the time being but maximum would be 2, as they need socializing by themselves. 6 males, 1 female.

PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU CAN HELP! 🐾

FOSTERS NEEDED AT OUR LOCAL SHELTER IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY!

SOS!!! FOSTERS NEEDED!

The shelter is beyond capacity. There is no space for even one more dog.

There are a variety of dogs available for fostering! All spayed/neutered dogs can go out to fosters; we just ask that they be available to come back to the shelter (with notice) as needed to meet potential adopters.

Fostering and adopting saves lives! Please feel free to message us here for more information. Foster application (same as adoption application) can be found online or filled out at the shelter.

So many dogs who are so wonderful. True, there are many who are not puppies. Puppies are such a magnet but, adopt an adult dog and you know what its personality is! Adopt a puppy and find out later.

Let's hear it for giving those grown up puppies the life they deserve!

Kennels were already full before yesterday. Five dogs were brought to the shelter on Monday and already two dogs brought in this morning. To put those numbers into perspective the shelter has 52 kennels plus 3 drop kennels (the drop kennels need to be open for overnight when dogs are brought in). There are 64 dogs at the shelter. Please consider fostering or adopting a dog from the shelter! Reduced dog adoption fees through Saturday.

Adoptable dog Ferrari is just one of the 42 dogs available.
