Society for the Preservation of Dixieland Jazz SPDJ encourages, perpetuates, & preserves appreciation of Dixieland & traditional jazz music

We meet the 4th Sunday each month at Duarte Elks Lodge, 2436 Huntington Drive
Duarte CA 91010, from 1:00-5:00. Door admission is $8 for members, $15 for nonmembers (but its only $20 to become a member!)

Hi everyone, I saw this today in my Facebook Feed. If you look closely, it’s SPDJ member/dancer Cornell Iliescu dancing in the street of the Balboa Island Parade last weekend. Where does he get that energy? It was fun to see him at a fun community event.

Society for the Preservation of Dixieland Jazz is very excited to announce our feature band Big Band Alumni, June 28, 2026!

Local musicians play various sets between 1:00 and 3:00 pm; feature band plays an hour set, and local musicians again take the stage until 5:00 pm.

If you are a musician bring your instrument, dancers bring your dancing shoes, music lovers bring your happy ears!!

Society for the Preservation of Dixieland Jazz is excited to announce our feature band for Sunday, 24 May 2026 is Ginger and the Hoosier Daddys! We meet at Arcadia Elks Lodge, 27 W Huntington, in Arcadia on fourth Sundays, between 1:00 and 5:00. Local musicians play sets between 1:00 and 3:00, feature band takes the stage at 3:00 and local musicians finish out the day until 5:00. Door admission is $15 for members/$20 for nonmembers. Hope to see you there! We have a 100 year old wooden dance floor, and snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Musicians bring your instrument - dancers bring your dancing shoes! Everyone else bring your happy ears and tapping toes! See you there! See less
