Membership is open to any person over 18 years of age interested in the goals and objectives of this organization. Members shall be admitted to the organization upon submission of an application form, background check, and review. Members with horses must satisfactorily complete certification yearly or prior to being on search. List of certification exercises:
Horse must be at least 4 years old. H
orse must be in sound physical condition. Horse must be under control when mounting/dismounting from either side. Horse must be able to stand quietly while rider puts on a slicker, reads a map or passes something to another rider. Must be able to stand quietly while rider holds another horse. Able to stand quietly while tied. Able to carry a survival pack/saddle bags. Willing to cross a bridge and rail road tracks. Able to pony another horse and be ponied. Willing to accept motorbikes, 4 wheelers, backpackers, llamas, tents, pedal bikes, and loud noises such as police sirens and helicopters. Able to load and unload from a trailer easily. Must be under riders control while riding with a group of horses at all gaits. Able to lead well over difficult terrain and obstacles. Able to allow other horses to move ahead at a more rapid rate while remaining under control of the rider. Willing to be under control while other horses leave. Able to climb and descend a steep grade with a rider. Able to side pass both directions
Able to drag a weighted object such as a tree branch or tire across the arena and back with a rope. Able to back readily. Able to negotiate a small brush jump or long between 12" to 18" high. Able to remain under control and tolerate obstacles such as balls, balloons, flags, streamers and flares. Able to remain under control around gunshots and firecrackers.
