Version 1 of the Ralamuli translation app is now live on the Apple App Store and available to download for Android devices! Over the next few weeks the dataset will be expanding and updating. The first step was the functionality and App Store approval. Excited about our collaboration with the community leaders and educational teachers in the Sierra to continue to build and improve the app’s capabilities. (Learning mode, phrases, pictures, sound, etc).

Facultad de Filosofía y Letras impartirá Diplomado sobre Cultura Rarámuri e Interculturalidad

Con el propósito de fortalecer el conocimiento, el diálogo social y la comprensión intercultural en el estado de Chihuahua, la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua ofrecerá el Diplomado Sociedad y Pueblo rarámuri , dirigido al público en general y al personal de dependencias gubernamentales.

A través de espacios académicos de reflexión, diálogo y formación, se busca promover el reconocimiento de la riqueza histórica, cultural y social del pueblo rarámuri, así como fortalecer una cultura de paz y respeto entre las distintas comunidades que conforman nuestra entidad.

El diplomado será impartido por docentes de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras y especialistas invitados, en modalidad presencial, con una duración total de 100 horas, distribuidas en 64 horas presenciales y 36 horas de trabajo a distancia. Las actividades se desarrollarán en las instalaciones de la Facultad, favoreciendo la participación activa de las y los asistentes mediante conferencias, sesiones de trabajo y espacios de diálogo colectivo.

El programa está integrado por cuatro módulos: “Primeras noticias desde la Historia”, enfocado en las fuentes históricas para el estudio de la cultura rarámuri; “El fenómeno cultural, lingüístico y literario en la cultura rarámuri”, que abordará sus representaciones simbólicas y ficcionales; “Aproximaciones a una epistemología rarámuri”, centrado en aspectos filosóficos, antropológicos y de derechos de los pueblos originarios; y “Diálogo intercultural”, dedicado a la reflexión sobre la convivencia, la justicia social y la cultura de paz.

Además de contribuir al fortalecimiento de la interculturalidad, este diplomado busca consolidar la vinculación universitaria con las necesidades sociales del estado, impulsando proyectos académicos con impacto social y promoviendo el respeto, la justicia y el reconocimiento de los pueblos originarios.

Two books honoring, celebrating and supporting the Raramuri athletes and communities of the Sierra Tarahumara. Proceeds from ‘Arnulfo Quimare’ directed to Arnulfo who lives a life of Korima with his community. All proceeds from ‘Run Like a Raramuri’ directed to True Messages and its projects. Both a celebration of culture, resistance and wisdom.
